Do You Have an Attitude of Gratitude?

As Thanksgiving approaches, I thought it would be a good time to focus our thoughts for a moment on the true meaning of this holiday. Do you live your life with a sense of gratitude everyday? Just on Thanksgiving? Or not at all?

One of the best success-in-anything books you could ever read is “The Science of Getting Rich” by Wallace Wattles, from way back in 1910.I-am-grateful-for2

Now don’t let the title fool you, it’s not about get rich quick schemes. It’s about following the laws of nature, that produce success in anything you want, when followed.

And one of the most powerful forces of nature being a mental attitude of gratitude. Gratitude for what you have (even if you usually think about that you don’t have)… and even gratitude for what you’ll have in the future.

Now, by “have” I am not necessarily referring to things. I’m talking about enjoyment, experiences, time spent with those you care about. Having a house to call home. And an education that enables you to provide for yourself and your family.

And as far as what you’ll have in the future, we’re talking about goals made reality here. What you’ll accomplish, and the kind of life you’ll live, when you write down your goals, take action, and go out there and make your goals happen, with an attitude of gratitude.

When people who don’t have an attitude of gratitude start adopting one, they notice a lot of things change for the better.

When life was full of stress and fighting and short tempers, the stress almost goes away. There are no more stupid fights with others, and short tempers mellow.

Because you’re in a different zone when you truly do give thanks for being here, for having the life you have. For having food on the table, and not having to sleep under the expressway.

So back to Thanksgiving… how many families get together on Thanksgiving, and don’t even really think about being thankful? How many families think it’s an inconvenience to travel half way across the country to see their family? And maybe don’t even look forward to “dealing” with the family?

I don’t say this to be negative. Just in today’s world, many people’s lives are full of stress and strife. Dysfunctional families like you see on reality shows. The last thing on their minds is being thankful for being where they don’t want to be. With people they really don’t like.

That’s why it’s so important to make the effort to put yourself into the gratitude mindset. It may not happen overnight, but as time goes on, you’ll notice differences in your life. Pleasant differences that are signs that you’re getting plugged in to the world of gratitude, and the laws of nature.

When you are plugged in, you’ll notice less resistance as you build your home business “on the side”… and set yourself up to Escape the Employee Trap.

Remember, with the attitude of gratitude, we’re talking success-in-anything power, when practiced with the other laws of success from Wallace Wattles.

You can find a copy of The Science of Getting Rich online, as the book is in the public domain (the copyright has expired) and has been re-branded by many companies and made available for free as pdf ebook downloads.

If you follow my Napoleon Hill Mondays on [the Waiternomics Facebook Page], and have read Think and Grow Rich, you’ll notice that Wallace Wattles and Napoleon Hill are on the same page when it comes to success in anything, and the laws of success.

Both books would make great reading material over the long Thanksgiving Day holiday, by the way.

Until next time…

Martin
