Well if so, you’re not alone. It happens all the time.
See, there are two types of people in life. Those who believe anything can be accomplished, if you are clear about what you want to do, how to go about doing it, and you
approach it with pig-headed determination. Until you’ve made it reality.
Then there’s the other type of person, who thinks, just because they don’t believe something can be accomplished, you can’t do it.
How do they get to this state of mind? Perhaps from attempts at going for a goal that didn’t work out. But instead of regrouping, and giving it their best until they achieve it,
they end up thinking that it’s just not possible.
Now that we understand how different people approach life, goals and accomplishments, let’s take a look at how you can take what a “nay-sayer” tells you and turn it around, to actually benefit you. To help you move toward your goal with more clarity and excitement than ever before.
When Someone Tells You… You CAN’T Do It
No matter what you think about The Secret, The fact is, the laws of nature they revealed are real and can work for you, depending on your frame of mind.
One that comes into play for today’s discussion is the fact that you become what you think about. And you become what you can see clearly in your “mind’s eye.” This is often
referred to as “visualization,” and is used by most successful people. Including most high-level athletes.
Before a big free throw, a pro basketball player will envision the shot going in, in his mind’s eye. Which when you get very good at using, can be as clear as a photograph
Visualization is not magic or voodoo or anything like that. It’s a tool to get a high level of clarity about something. So clear it feels like you’re right there doing it.
Now here’s how you can apply this, when someone tells you… “You can’t do THAT!”
Simply, as this person is trying their best to shatter your dreams, and make you feel bad, as they are telling you WHAT it is that you’ll never be able to do…
Think About What They Are Saying
If someone tells you that you can’t become a baseball star, notice the image that comes to mind immediately. You playingin a major league baseball game, hitting the ball and running the bases! It’s only natural to think of what this person is telling you that you can’t do.
Then think to yourself… “Thanks mister! You just gave me all the clarity and energy I need to go out and do that!”
Don’t you feel a surge of energy when someone tells you that you can’t do something? It may be a surge of negative energy at first, but when you see that picture in your mind’s eye of you doing it, and doing it well, that anger quickly turns to excitement. And that excitement is exactly what you can harness to prove them wrong. To go out there and do it!
It makes me feel bad when I see someone give up on something they really want to do, after a nay-sayer tells them they can’t.
That’s why I wanted to share this with you today. In the hopes you can use this strategy when confronted by this situation. And walk away with a smile, and a renewed
motivation to Escape the Employee Trap, and create the life you want to live.
Until next time…
